Saddlers secure survival
Walsall clinched their League One safety thanks to a 1-1 draw at home to Huddersfield and a stunning comeback from Notts County at relegation rivals Wycombe.
Wanderers looked to be taking the relegation scrap to the final day but two late goals from County at Adams Park ensured the Saddlers' point at the Banks's Stadium was enough - leaving them four points clear heading into next weekend.
Huddersfield, already assured of a play-off place, took the lead in only the second minute.
Full-back Jack Hunt burst down the right and crossed to Scott Arfield, who touched the ball on for Lee Novak to control and lash home a left-footed shot past Jimmy Walker, recalled by the Saddlers for the important game.
Novak, who took his tally to 16 for the season, nearly added another with a close-range header which went over the bar after 14 minutes.
Walsall were a different side in the second half, however, and Florent Cuvelier equalised in the 49th minute, finding the bottom corner from Mat Sadler's left-wing cross.
Alex Nicholls twice broke through only to drive narrowly off target while Huddersfield goalkeeper Ian Bennett plunged at the feet of Emanuel Ledesma deep into stoppage time to deny the Saddlers a winner.
