Chairboys flattened by dangerous Rhodes
The unstoppable Jordan Rhodes scored five times as Huddersfield made an emphatic statement to their promotion rivals by annihilating struggling Wycombe 6-0.
The in-demand striker took his season's tally to an amazing 27 as the Terriers tore their hosts apart from start to finish in front of an army of scouts.
Huddersfield went ahead in the 10th minute as Oscar Gobern headed in at the near post from Gary Roberts' corner before Rhodes got off the mark by volleying in Jack Hunt's terrific cross.
It was 3-0 inside 25 minutes when Rhodes sprinted towards Lee Novak's pass before shrugging off Grant Basey and calmly sliding the ball past Nikki Bull.
It took the Scotland international four minutes of the second half to complete his fourth hat-trick of the season as he rolled into an empty net after Bull had saved his initial effort.
He added to his haul by first tapping in after Danny Ward's shot was pushed out by Bull before nipping in front of his marker to convert Ward's cross.
